HAPPY 21st ANNIVERSARY LAKE EFFECTS! In 1986 the Lake Effects
Horse Show circuit was formed to accommodate riders in Western
Michigan. Our first awards banquet was a pig roast following the last horse show
of the summer. We now host beautiful banquets for these ceremonies, awarding over
20 trophies and 100 ribbons. The LEHS provides ten affordable summer shows at
wonderful facilities with experienced show managers. Many riders who got their
start on the LEHS have gone on to qualifications and awards on the national
level. We invite you to join us as we celebrate 21 YEARS of hosting Horse Shows.
Watch our prizelists for exciting events you can share with us.
The Lake Effect Horse Shows will be hosting the American Hunter Jumper/Dover Saddlery Junior Hunter

have shown higher than 2'9". The fence height for the class is 2'3" - 2'6". The class is run in
a two round classic format with scores announced. At the end of the season, the riders top three
events/scores will count toward a year-end award. There is a Western and Eastern Champion. The Champions are given a travel
grant to the Capital Challenge Horse show to watch the hunters compete and to meet leading hunter
riders/trainer. Good Luck to all riders - No membership is required! We hope you will all try
out this fun new class! For more information you can go to the AHJF website.
The LEHS is very proud to announce that for the second year in a row we have produced the Champion of the Eastern
Division of the AHJF/Dover Junior Hunter Challenge. Caitlin Miller, who rides with Amy Hayes and Casey Hughes of
Fox Brush Farm in Dewitt, was awarded her champion prizes October 6th at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. The AHJF
also invited this years reserve champion, third and fourth place riders to join Caitlin at the Capital Challenge.
Maitlyn Rakowski, from Fieldstone Farm in Jackson, Diane Chapman who rides at Windsong Stable and Mariola Power from
Double Oak Farm were the recipients of these awards, consecutively. All of these riders earned their points from
showing on the Lake Effects Circuit! These young ladies were presented awards, center ring, prior to the Professioanl
Riders Hunter Challenge Friday night. Saturday they were given the opportunity to speak with a judge, course designer,
veterinarian, and Brianna Goutal. Saturday, McClain Ward walked the Grand Prix course with them and they were allowed
to watch from the in gate area and received autographs from many of the Grand Prix riders. The Lake Effect Horse Show
association is very pleased to offer this class at all of their shows, giving many riders a unique opportunity.
